Now the iPhone 15 Pro is getting even less love from the public, according to the latest information (via 9to5Mac). Meanwhile, the vanilla iPhone 15 is gaining more attention. That’s something. I’m sure the folks at Cupertino expected exactly the opposite phenomenon, but here we are, living in the strangest of times. Or maybe times aren’t so strange and there’s a simple reason behind the drop in satisfaction among iPhone 15 Pro users…
What changed?
Back in late October 2023, a PerfectRec report examined nearly 700,000 online user-generated reviews and found that the iPhone 15 Pro scored 5/5 stars in only 73% of those reviews. This was lower than the iPhone 14 Pro and similar 5/5 scores of the iPhone 13 Pro. The latest PerfectRec report (on a side note: these reports should be called “PerfectWreck”) applies the same methodology and finds that the cheaper iPhone 15 and 15 Plus receive an increase in customer satisfaction. Typically, Pro phones have higher ratings than the base variants, but not this time.
Now, only 66.1% of iPhone 15 Pro reviews give 5/5 stars. And for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it has dropped from 77% to 72.5%.
On the other hand, the iPhone 15 has increased from 68.2% to 78.1% and the iPhone 15 Plus has jumped from 70% to 73.5% for 5/5 star ratings.
In the last 30 days, the top three complaints about iPhone 15 Pro were, according to the report:
- Short battery life
- Incremental updates from iPhone 14 Pro
- Disappointment with the physical design and protruding camera lenses
