The inclusion of RCS support by Apple in its walled garden likely means that communication between Android devices and iPhones should be a bit smoother. However, it is still unclear how all of this will work when it comes to carriers. Verizon, for example, uses its own “Advanced Messaging” RCS backend, instead of using Google’s Jibe platform, like AT&T and T-Mobile do.
However, this is about to change. In a tweet from the company, Verizon announced that it will transition to Google’s Jibe platform and, with it, will also adopt Rich Business Messaging (RBM), which may allow businesses like airlines to send boarding passes directly to your messaging app.

Seamless communication between carriers is absolutely crucial, as it has been a major issue for users. Verizon has not provided a specific timeline for the change, but this shift is a significant step towards a more unified and feature-rich RCS experience for Android users on its network.
